Square Deli Containers
Want to get more out of your deli packaging? EasyPak manufactures thermoformed containers and lids in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, including square, rectangular, round, octagonal, clamshell, compartmented, and fluted, and specialized packaging for a vast assortment of food products.
EasyPak, founded in 2004, is a leading provider of thermoformed packaging solutions for a wide range of global industries and applications. We offer decades of technical and manufacturing capabilities across a national footprint, with facilities in Leominster, MA; Kalamazoo, MI; Reading, PA; Vernon, CA; and Oldsmar, FL.
If you are wondering which shape of container may work best for your deli products, consider that each shape has its benefits and limitations. In general, square and rectangular deli containers take up less space on the shelf and in your customer’s refrigerator, while round containers minimize wasted space inside the container and may be able to hold more of your product.
EasyPak is committed to manufacturing high-quality packaging at an affordable price with unmatched quality and customer service. We will be happy to help you compare the benefits of round, rectangular and square containers to help you make the right choice.
Packaging performance depends on design and function, and each application has an optimal food-grade material choice. EasyPak’s engineers will help you choose the right material, from traditional plastic polymers to new eco-friendly alternatives such as FDA PCR-APET (post-consumer recycled APET).
Here is a look at some of our materials and how they are commonly used in food packaging applications:
Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET or PETE)
PET is a clear, strong, and lightweight plastic that has rapidly become the world’s preferred packaging material for foods and beverages. Special grades are used for carry-home food containers and prepared food trays that can be warmed in the oven or microwave. PET is approved as food safe by the FDA and health-safety agencies around the world. It is a very energy-efficient packaging material and is completely recyclable.
Amorphous Polyethylene Terephthalate (APET)
APET is strong and pliable and offers superior leak resistance. It can be coated with anti-fog material to retain clarity when used in cold cases. It is popular for platter domes, cake and pie packages, and for sandwiches, salads, bakery, deli products, and produce.
High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)
HDPE is the most widely used type of plastic. It is used to make many types of bottles and containers. Unpigmented bottles are translucent and are often used to package products with a short shelf life, such as milk. HDPE’s high tensile strength makes it well-suited to clamshell containers and trays. It is recyclable.
PP is found in flexible and rigid packaging. It is strong and has a high melting point, making it good for hot-fill liquids. Common packaging applications include containers for yogurt, margarine, takeout meals, and deli foods. Polypropylene is recyclable.
High-Impact Polystyrene (HIPS)
HIPS is a low cost and rigid plastic material often used in applications such as cookie and candy trays, deli containers and food service items. It is food safe, has good opacity and strong impact resistance, and its moisture barrier makes it ideal for short shelf life products.
